Dutch Rabbits, without question are one of the classiest breeds. Their most dominant characteristic are the 7 circle patterned markings. Dutch are a small breed that range in size from 3.5 & 5.5 lbs. This breed is said to have originated from Holland. They are one of the oldest breeds, brought to England in 1864. There, they were developed into the Dutch breed as we know it today.

Dutch Rabbits are generally good-natured, friendly and sociable. They can also be very energetic, although mine tend to be very calm during handling.

Dutch Rabbits are considered the true fanciers breed; they are a challenge for even the most experienced breeders. The difficulty of raising the Dutch rabbit for showing is the combination of type and markings. Only a rabbit that possesses both the proper compact type and the perfectly symmetrical markings, as set down by the standard, will excel.

We currently raise Dutch in Black & Chocolate.
